An introduction to normal pregnancy and childbirth and the role of the midwife in providing care for women.<br/>This unit will provide the foundational knowledge to enable midwifery students to provide safe and effective midwifery care to healthy mothers and babies across the childbearing continuum, incorporating anatomy and physiology and the evidence basis for maternity care.<br/>The focus will be on the role of the midwife as a primary carer and working in partnership with women. -- Course Website
