This unit examines principles used in pay determination in Australia and internationally, and provides a practical foundation to understanding how the design of systems of pay (and other extrinsic rewards) and participation (and other forms of intrinsic reward associated with work) can enhance individual and organisational performance. Topics include pays systems, forms of employee participation including financial participation (eg: share ownership), participation in work allocation (autonomous teams) and other forms of involvement in decision making in the workplace (eg: workplace democracy), performance management and motivation. -- Course Website
