This unit focuses on the practical application of strategic management concepts, theories and analytical techniques in the public sector. Public value, public accountability and public policy processes are fundamental differences that have practical implications for strategic management. Learning is structured around cases. The emphasis is on understanding the nature and complexity of strategy problems, the role of strategic analysis, and the application of frameworks and techniques to identify issues and evaluate options. -- Course Website

Prerequisites: Students must be enrolled in one of the following courses: 0105, 0319, 2099, 2778, 1065, 3801, 1506, 2643, 2642, 0200, 0201, 0028 or 1822 and must have passed MGX9270 or MPA9001 or seek Chief Examiner's approval before undertaking this unit.
