This unit provides students with an understanding of the tasks and the main issues associated with the management of data and electronic records in modern organisations. The management of business records has always been an important function in any large organisation, but the use of digital technologies has added greatly to the scope and complexity of the task, and to the number and diversity of issues which must be addressed. The unit will examine some of the key areas in which these changes have affected the data management function in organisations.
