Only offered to cohorts.<br/>This unit recognises the complex literate demands placed on students due to technological advancements, an increasingly globalised world, diverse classroom contexts, and the importance literacy plays in learning, employment and community participation. Participants explore what literacy means in contemporary society and they investigate both national and international literacy policy environments. Further they will gain an understanding of the important links between improved literacy standards and school performance through building teacher capacity, investing in professional learning, evidence based practice, effective leadership and community partnerships. -- Course Website
