This unit is intended to enable students to develop their understanding of, and capacity for, developing appropriate curriculum and pedagogy across a range of subject areas, appreciating the importance of language and literacy in schooling and students' learning. It explores a range of theoretical perspectives on the learning and teaching of literacy, with respect to curriculum and pedagogy in Years 7 to 10 of secondary schooling. Current policy environments are also examined in order to understand how these currently mediate teachers' work. -- Course Website
