This core education unit is an introductory unit for graduate teacher education secondary students. Drawing on their learning in related units and their experience in fieldwork settings, students will develop an understanding of key elements of learning, specifically: teaching and learning; effective communication; use of ICT ; literacy and numeracy; establishing effective learning environments; student motivation; and processes of classroom management. The emphasis is on exploring the rich interconnections between theory and practice, and illustrating the power of effective theories in guiding complex practice. -- Course Website
