In this unit we consider why mentoring has been taken up so widely, and for what purposes. We also consider the different forms it takes in different places, with a focus on mentoring in workplaces. The unit will provide students with skills and knowledge to enable them to design a mentoring initiative. It also offers students an opportunity to critically evaluate the claims of mentoring and to consider its merits in relation to other approaches to promoting learning in the workplace. -- Course Website
