This unit will provide an overview of effective, as well as evidence-based, learning and teaching practices in various educational settings for students with diverse needs. Generic learning and teaching strategies that can be applied in a variety of educational settings will be promoted, with a particular focus on peer-assisted learning, cooperative learning, reciprocal teaching, providing feedback, differentiated instruction and ways in which positive relationships between teachers and students might be promoted. Finally, students will be encouraged to critically analyse different forms of evidence and the ways they might evaluate their own teaching practice. -- Course Website
