This unit extends the discipline studies from first semester and introduces human physiology with a particular focus on physical activity, exercise and physical education. The unit seeks to apply understandings of the various physiological systems used and grounds these within a broader understanding of their interdependence within the body, and the body within its environment. The scientific principles underpinning the field of exercise physiology will be applied in laboratory practice. Sporting, physical and outdoor activity pursuits will be used to progress understandings of physiological adaptation within a broader socio-ecological context. -- Course Website
