The unit will introduce students to the theories about the globalization of law. Using a series of cases studies it aims to show how global laws are adopted and reinterpreted in key domestic legal systems in Asia. The unit will also demonstrate the local constraints on the globalization of law and offer reasons why legal and regulatory systems in Asian are not necessarily converging with those in the West. -- Course Website
