The unit will analyse the basic parameters of animal health with respect to symptomatic observation and measurement of disturbance to body function through to clinical diagnostic methods. Disease states will be explored as case studies of common diseases in farm and pet animals and via analysis of the impacts of disease on the various organ systems of the body. Disease treatment and control methods will be described together with basic information on microbial infection systems relevant to animal protection and treatment.
