The unit examines, analyses and evaluates the literature and reporting practices as they relate to the reporting of sport and sport cultures. It canvasses major documentary and database sources, contemporary cultural issues, case studies, sports personalities and institutions across a range of major sports in the South African and African context. The unit explores the use of various technologies in contemporary reporting practices, and critically considers the professional and social implications of sports reporting.
