The unit provides an opportunity to undertake detailed examination of the production practices, resources, technologies and genres of video journalism. Examination topics covered include broadcast and online modes. It develops the major performance practices of voice presentation and interviews, image and sound recording, editing and post-production. The unit critically analyses and evaluates the implications for journalists of differing forms of audience engagement and editorial positioning, including news, current affairs and feature/documentary genre.
