This unit deals provides an opportunity for extended, in-depth investigation of the full background context of a performance. Students can explore the social, cultural background of a production, its performance history, its material culture. The relationships between technical aspects, scenography, history and the conceptual background to a production are explore in terms of their effects and reception. -- Course Website
