This unit offers an introduction to the exciting field of postcolonial literature and theory. Texts are chosen to represent different cultural, historical and national responses to process of colonialism. Issues include rewriting history, decolonising identities, postcolonial resistance and strategies for writing back. Weekly theoretical readings will enable students to apply theory to reading literary works. -- Course Website
