This unit is an introduction to the theoretical and practical skills required for interpreting and translating between Japanese and English. It is designed for students with advanced competence in both Japanese and English, and will address both linguistic skills and interpreting/translating skills. While not intended to bring students to a professional level, the course will enhance students' ability to perform the informal interpreting and translating tasks. It will also provide a good foundation for further study in this area. -- Course Website
