This unit is a key component in a program of tuition in editing upon which the student builds to achieve full professional competence. Students will have undertaken basic exercises following completion of an approved pre-requisite and be familiar with the work of the professional editor and the role of copy-editing in the preparation of the manuscript for publication. This subject takes this further and examines specialised applications of copy editorial skill, including, for example, technical and scientific editing. Students will also be allowed to specialise in chosen applied fields. -- Course Website
