This unit is concerned with the structure of multivariate data which is explored graphically, analysed statistically and investigated using data mining methods. Multivariate methods covered include cluster analysis, principal components, and discriminant analysis. Knowledge of simple matrix algebra, although not essential, will be very helpful in understanding and working through these topics. Statistical packages are used extensively to illustrate the concepts in lectures and tutorials. -- Course Website
