This unit will reconnect with and shed new light upon particular topics and key concepts that you have encountered in your sociology major. Contemporary sociology explores a spectrum of diverse modes of action and interaction in the modern world. Amongst other things, it interrogates the nature and tendencies of modern market societies, enquires into the changing character of intimate life and reflects on the future of a public sphere. In this unit we build a broad narrative framework that should illuminate the dynamic, two-way intersections between these domains of action.
