The focus of this performance-based unit is on the critical development of interactive skills. This unit begins with fundamentals of ensemble playing. Six weeks of this unit will be devoted to ensemble playing in a Central Javanese Gamelan. The aim of this session is to develop ensemble playing in a structured and accessible ensemble environment with the specific intention of developing melodic and rhythmic interlocking skills.
