This unit introduces students to the voice as an instrument for communication. Through studying elements of vocal anatomy and physiology, students learn technical and foundational aspects of the voice. Vocal health and vocal care strategies are also discussed. Students apply their learning to individual vocal programs, aspirations and abilities. The singing voice and its role in solo and ensemble-specific situations within popular music styles are explored. No previous singing experience is required. Lecture and tutorial attendance is a unit requirement. -- Course Website
