This unit explores creative aesthetics for screen media, past and present. It highlights key innovations in screen aesthetics with reference to style, mise-en-scene, screen language, design, colour, screen space, cinematography and editing. This unit reveals ways in which creative aesthetics for the screen are being refashioned in the era of convergent screen media. Emphasis is towards a rigorous and sophisticated analysis of the moving image, with particular attention paid to digital aesthetics.
