This unit examines the economic, social, cultural, religious and political tensions brought by globalisation to people in the developed and developing nation states and how these tensions are reflected in law. The unit will examine the role of national institutions, the increasing transplantation of laws, the impact of emerging technologies and the recognition of human rights in analysing these tensions. The sites of property law, corporate governance, environmental sustainability and human rights will be used to explore these issues. -- Course Website
