The first part of this unit assesses the extent to which the Commonwealth and State constitutions provide, expressly or by implication, for basic rights and freedoms ? and how it may be desirable to supplement these constitutions with bills of rights. A second and larger part discusses administrative law. That is, how far public and private organisations are required by law ? through which individuals have recourse to courts, tribunals and ombudsman offices ? to exercise their legally conferred powers and to do so honestly, fairly and in accordance with freedom of information. -- Course Website
