This unit provides students with further opportunity to explore the relationship between health and disease, from both the biological and psychological perspective. The common pathologies of each body system are studied, and their causes, mechanisms and effects are explored. The links between these disease mechanisms and their clinical manifestations is highlighted. By the completion of the unit, students will have a good knowledge of the major diseases of the body, and how they manifest in the patient. By studying a large number of human disease states, students will deepen their understanding of the complex relationship between ourselves and our environment. -- Course Website
