This unit focuses on general research principles and their applications in language studies. The unit covers quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research. It provides students with necessary knowledge to understand research reports by explaining the whole process of research and how to design a research project. To this end, the unit covers topics related to the specific methods and procedures in each of the three research paradigms (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed).
