This course focuses on the theory and application of genetic diagnostic techniques. The course is taught as an intensive course that will give practical experience in a wide range of relevant molecular techniques and diagnostic procedures including: DNA extraction, PCR amplification, restriction enzyme digestion, cytogenetic techniques and analysis, DNA sequence and Genescan analysis. This course has a clinical focus and includes pedigree and family case studies.
