NOTE: The course is run as a one-week intensive at a remote field station in week 7 of the semester, with some lecture content on two weekends prior to the course.<br/>The course complements other marine subjects offered in the Marine Biology major, by emphasizing processes and habitats typical of oceanic settings, in particular coral reef environments. Areas that will be discussed include: ocean currents and their influence on climate; pelagic, continental shelf and deep sea biology; coral reef ecosystems; marine resource exploitation and management.
