This course explores the theoretical background and current issues relating to freshwater, estuarine and marine ecosystems with a strong focus on Australian examples. Topics cover pure ecology as well as aspects of aquatic resource management. Workshops provide an introduction to the plants and animals of aquatic systems together with methods of collection and monitoring.
