This course has two major foci. The first is the teaching of geometry, measurement, and chance and data in the primary school. This covers key concepts and processes plus specific teaching and learning activities. The second is the development of an overall approach to teaching primary mathematics that takes account of contemporary learning theory and teaching strategies, promotes problem solving skills, identifies students' strengths and weaknesses, and encompasses new technology. Assessment includes an examination, a teaching plan and a folio of resources based on workshop activities. <br/>Pre-requisite: Advisable to complete 2011CLS/2011EBL/2011EPS/2011EDN Mathematics Education 1... -- Course Website
