This course equips students to tackle problems of information transfer by genetic systems. The nature of genes, their organisation in living cells, their expression and methods of manipulation are covered as well as basic Mendelian and human clinical genetics. The course will also focus on the tools and methods of genetic engineering and analysis and the ethical issues involved.
