Invertebrates comprise more than 90% of animal biodiversity, yet are often ignored in biological surveys or conservation plans. This course covers the two major groups of terrestrial arthropods and their role in communities. The course examines the arachnids and insects and will explore their biology, ecology, life-histories, role in ecosystems and classification. Practical work comprises the preparation and classification of an insect collection and assessment is by submission of the insect collection, a review of a group of invertebrates, and a theory examination.<br/><br/>Prerequisite: 1602ENV Botany and Zoology or 1602EAS Botany and Zoology<br/><br/>Incompatible: 2705EAS Entomology -- Course Website
