This unit will cover the pathology of human disease at a molecular and cellular level and will be presented in four sections. The first section will address toxic damage to cells, repair process within cells, cell ageing and mechanisms of cell death. The second section will cover the biology of cancer. The third section will examine the molecular and cellular changes that lead to diverse clinical features in inherited syndromes and multisystem diseases. In the fourth section the role of trace elements in human biology and disease will be discussed.
