The unit introduces numerical and graphical summaries of data and normal and sampling distributions. The laws of probability theory are discussed and described by example. Statistical estimates and tests on population means and proportions, chi-square tests on distribution and association, correlation and linear regression models, and the ANOVA analysis for comparing means are covered. Computer packages and calculators are used throughout the unit to minimise the computational effort. -- Course Website
