This unit forms a major research project proposed by the student in a specialised area of engineering. The project entails research investigation involving an analysis and interpretation of data, or a critical review and interpretation of literature on a selected topic, and provides an opportunity for the practical application and integration of the professional background and skills studied in other units of the Master degree. Frequent feedback to the University supervisor in the form of progress reports is essential.
