Topics covered will include sensors and transducers, their application to force, pressure, displacement, and temperature measurements. Process and instrumentation diagrams, process characteristics, examples of control loops, feedback and feed-forward control, dynamic behaviour of low-order, higher-order systems and time-delay systems, modelling of industrial processes including least square methods and Kalman filter for estimations, implementation of control algorithms, discrete time control, discrete finite-time control (dead-beat control), fundamental concept of robust control theory, and robust sliding mode control for high-order uncertain nonlinear industrial systems. -- Course Website
