This unit examines intellectual property (with an emphasis on trademarks, copyright and patents) and the international agreements for their protection.  It does so from an international perspective by focusing in particular on the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights.  In so doing this unit examines this and other key international intellectual property agreements for their requirements regarding observance, enforcement and dispute settlement.  This unit then explores some of the current international intellectual property issues including those relating to public health and the Internet. -- Course Website
