This is an Honours level unit that explores the theory, models and practice of investments. The main objective of this unit is to familiarise students with seminal and contemporary literature on selected topics in both theoretical and empirical finance. It enables students to explain option pricing models and apply them to practical problems, understand the significance of the theory of finance, market microstructure, evaluate financial models, understand the contribution behavioural finance is making to finance research, apply analytical skills obtained from an in-depth study of topics and analyse the factors that are important in conducting an event study. -- Course Website
