This unit will provide students with an understanding of the use of biotechnology in the food industry. Students will develop theoretical and practical skills in the use of microorganisms, eukaryotes and prokaryotes, or products from these organisms, in controlled food production and processes, based upon a sound knowledge of the techniques used in engineering of organisms.
