This unit considers physical activity at a population level, and the impact on the prevalence of health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity and cancer, along with the economic implications of those health conditions. The unit has an intervention focus addressing the planning, implementation and evaluation of theory and evidence-based physical activity interventions and promotion programs. Individual, social and environmental factors that influence participation in physical activity are discussed, along with the impact of socio-economic status and neighbourhood of residence on physical activity. -- Course Website
