This unit is designed to enable students to understand the basic requirements of health and fitness testing. In doing so, it addresses the principles of exercise prescription for the general population from a health and fitness perspective. It contrasts the physiological responses to exercise of special populations to that of healthy individuals. Students are encouraged to develop a problem-identification and problem-solving approach in order to improve the health and fitness of individuals of all ages, genders and health and fitness status. Behavioural principles relating to exercise adherence and compliance are also presented.Assessment -- Course Website
