This unit will provide students with an introduction to abnormal and clinical psychology from a descriptive, theoretical, and experimental perspective. A critical examination of abnormality will be presented within an integrated biopsychosocial framework. Topics covered include a history of abnormality, an integrative model of abnormality, diagnosis and classification, as well as an examination of the major groups of disorders such as anxiety, mood and psychotic disorders. Where appropriate, there will be a discussion and evaluation of therapeutic interventions and ethical issues pertaining to abnormal behaviour. -- Course Website
