This unit provides an advanced examination of current issues, theories and methods used in the area of cognitive psychology. Several questions will be addressed: how we can identify and model cognitive processes, how cognitive change occurs, and the extent to which we can produce behavioural change by effecting cognitive change. Examples will be drawn from the literature on cognitive development, problem-solving, decision-making, social cognition, classroom instruction, and clinical psychology. The focus will be on close analysis of theories and the empirical evidence which bears on them.Assessment -- Course Website
