This unit, which forms part of the Parallel Studies in Nursing, is one of three (3) electives that, together with the core nursing units, constitute a mental health major within the Bachelor of Nursing degree. The unit aims to introduce students to a broader framework than that of the medical model as it applies to the mental health setting and to assist students in developing mental health competency. The models of care introduced will assist the student to develop a framework they can utilise in a number of clinical settings. -- Course Website
