This unit is the second unit in the Clinical Studies in Nursing: Year 1 cluster. In this unit principles of nursing care introduced in previous units are further developed. Opportunities will be provided for students to develop an understanding of therapeutic medication administration, symptom management and management of behaviours of concern, for example, those related to dementia and delirium. To achieve this, principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics will be introduced as the foundation for therapeutic use of medicines.
