This unit seeks to familiarise those involved in teaching in international schools with the broader context of the development of new institutional formations in global education - in particular the place of international schools and the networks such as IBO that support them. It also seeks to familiarise students with the various mechanisms of globalisation in international schooling- especially in areas such as the development of professional standards, assessment, accreditation, certification, etc. It will also look at the fluidity of staffing of international schools and the issues involved in mobility between contexts.
