This unit examines a range of issues related to literature for young people and their implications for the primary and secondary classroom. Topics covered include picture books and visual literacy, fantasy and other worlds, issues of representation and ideology and their implications for in and out of school reading practices, and sociocultural perspectives on the teaching of children's literature.
