The unit provides an overview of the theories of development in early childhood, with an emphasis on physical development and the significant influences on development, health and well-being at this stage of the life span. The unit is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to examine theory and practices and apply these to programs that enhance safety, health and development in early childhood.
