The unit examines health, safety, nutrition and wellbeing of infants, toddlers and young children, individually and in group care. The unit examines the legislative and regulatory requirements as specified in ACECQA in relation to health, safety, wellbeing and nutrition, and what compliance is required to meet regulations and quality standards specified nationally and at the state level. Other content includes the appraisal of nutritional needs of infants and young children, including food allergies, cultural requirements of families and be able to provide for these.
